Job Description:

We’re looking for a curious Cloud Engineering Intern to help build and operate cloud infrastructure. You’ll work with experienced engineers on AWS tasks, learn infrastructure as code with Terraform, and gain practical exposure to Kubernetes and Python automation. You’ll also learn how teams approach disaster recovery, security, monitoring, and cloud cost management.

Roles & Responsibilites:

Assist with AWS infrastructure tasks involving services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, S3,Route 53, Elastic Load Balancing, RDS, and CloudWatch.
Help maintain Terraform configurations and modules under guidance from senior engineers.
Write or update Python scripts for routine operational tasks, reporting, and automation.
Support Kubernetes and Amazon EKS workloads by helping with deployments,configuration, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting.
Assist with CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
Help review AWS usage and identify potential cost improvements, such as unused resources, overprovisioned capacity, or missing tags.
Learn and assist with AWS disaster recovery practices, including backup checks, documentation, and supervised recovery exercises.
Help monitor cloud environments, investigate alerts, and document findings.
Follow security practices such as least-privilege access, safe secrets handling, and approved change processes.
Update runbooks, technical documentation, and diagrams as systems change.
Collaborate with engineers and ask questions early when a task or operational change is unclear.

Skills Required:

Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and interest in learning AWS.
Basic knowledge of Linux and command-line tools.
Some exposure to Python scripting; coursework or personal projects are welcome.
Interest in Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools.
Basic understanding of containers or Kubernetes is beneficial.
Familiarity with networking concepts such as IP addresses, DNS, subnets, and security groups.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
Willingness to learn, take feedback, and work carefully in a production-focused environment
AWS coursework, labs, or certifications such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.
Personal, academic, or internship projects using AWS, Terraform, Docker, or Kubernetes.
Exposure to Git and CI/CD tools.
Interest in cloud security, disaster recovery, monitoring, or cost optimization.
